Yearly Verse

Each year, I try to apply a new verse that I will stand upon and agree with for the year. I also accompany that with a word. These two items are not just cute sayings for me; they are what pull me through during the times when I’m doubting God or don’t understand what is going on in my life. They’re what I have chosen to cling to as the personal words to me from my sweet Daddy. Last year, my word was “expectant” and my verse was Psalm 37:3-5. This year, my verse is Hebrews 11:6 and my word is faith.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

What I have found cool about each year I’ve picked a verse, somewhere or someone affirms that very same scripture and/or word not too long after.

Tonight at Deeply Rooted, the message was over Hebrews 1-(you guessed it)6. I was stoked! I had just chosen this scripture. It’s almost as if the Lord was saying, “Daughter, that’s a good one. Just wanted to let you know in a tangible way.”

What scripture are you standing on this year? What’s your word?
